All our biodiesel is manufactured from wastes or residues.

Argent has pioneered the use of novel waste feedstocks and always avoided the use of raw materials that may be less sustainable such as those made from food or feed crops. Our fuel gives a saving of greenhouse gas emissions over fossil diesel of 90% and is the most sustainable and environmentally friendly diesel for road vehicles available.

Raw materials include tallow (waste animal fat), food waste, trap grease, brown grease and the fats, oils and greases (FOG) recoverable from sewage systems and water treatment works.

Both our biodiesel plants have specialised pretreatment plants alongside to allow the use of highly degraded and off-spec raw materials that other plants are unable to cope with (e.g. FFA levels up to 100%).

All our biodiesel is distilled after double-transesterification, the only plant to do so in the UK. This creates a very pure, dry and contaminant-free fuel.
