Our biodiesel is the most sustainable
Harnessing the power of waste materials such as tallow, used cooking oils, FOG, sewer grease and high FFA materials means that as well as providing excellent greenhouse gas savings, our biodiesel is highly sustainable.
So not only do we supply standard diesel with 7% of our biodiesel but we also supply high bio-blends, from 20% (B20) to 100% (B100), for fleet operators. Thanks to our unique technology, this means we can maximise your carbon savings at the same price as standard diesel.
In 2009, we were named Most Sustainable Biodiesel Supplier/Producer at the World Biofuels Conference. In 2010 we were awarded the accolade of Biodiesel Corporation of the Year by the World Refining Association. Argent were then awarded the Green Business of the Year Award 2012 by the Scottish Business Awards.
Distilled biodiesel means purity, quality and consistency
Ours are the only plants in the UK to use distillation technology, designed to deliver a homogenous, clear and very clean biodiesel which meets EN 14214 2008 – the European standard for biodiesel as an automotive fuel.
Our Motherwell site can produce up to 60 million litres (55,000 tonnes) of high quality distilled biodiesel a year. That’s 170,000 litres every day.
Our new, state-of-the-art plant in Ellesmere Port will more than double our annual output.
It means that we have the scale and logistical expertise to satisfy the needs of multinationals, although we focus on delivering exceptional product and service to all customers, irrespective of size.
From 2005, we have pioneered large scale commercial production of biodiesel in the UK. Our flagship plant in Motherwell is now mirrored by our new facilities in Ellesmere Port and we will continue to develop our product offering and levels of expertise to meet market and legislative demands.
